All this is HENRI

Allow us to briefly introduce ourselves. HENRI Hotels are small but exquisite boutique hotels in the centre of the city or surrounded by the most beautiful nature. HENRI thrives on comfortable retreats and exciting community corners. Somewhere between tradition and modernity, we conjure up our own world in which everyone finds their place. And while the in-house kitchen is part of all hotels, you can also expect individual specialities – such as the dreamlike pool in Kitzbühel or a sauna with a city view in Hamburg.

If you want to know what else is typical of HENRI – or how an idea became a concept, then you've come to the right place.

Who is this Heinrich now?

The idea

The idea for HENRI began in Hamburg, in a small, exclusive hotel on the River Elbe. In the Louis C. Jacob, where Hanseatic hospitality has been practised for generations, an idea emerged at some point: What if we could take this feeling and bring it to new hotels. Not as a copy, but as an attitude. Stylish. Personally. And with a view to the future.

HENRI is dedicated to someone who fits the bill perfectly: Heinrich Jacob. The last member of the Jacob family to run the hotel himself. A talented hotelier for whom being on the road was often more important than his desk. A bon vivant, globetrotter, connoisseur. Not quite like the others. And that's exactly why he's so good.

It is said that his artefacts from all over the world are hidden in the HENRI houses. Small treasures that are not exhibited, but to be discovered. And because Heinrich likes to move on, he remains a bit of a myth. He leaves his coat or hat somewhere. And, strangely enough, is always just out the door. The next adventure awaits.

Zeitgeist meets lifestyle

The philosophy

HENRI was born from a simple idea: We don't want an off-the-peg hotel. Instead of interchangeable new construction projects, we focus on places with history wherever possible and give old walls a new lease of life.

For example, a stately apartment block dating back to 1899 has been transformed into the HENRI Berlin. And a former insurance office from the 1970s became HENRI Düsseldorf. Places with character meet houses with soul.

If you take a closer look, you will find little anecdotes and great references in many corners that pay tribute to times gone by. Found objects, shapes, colours. Some are a wink, some a silent homage. And the best part? There is plenty of space for your story on the pages of our HENRI history.

Like with good friends

The feeling

When we think of HENRI, no anonymous hotel chain comes to mind. Instead, we live hospitality like in small family businesses. Personalised. Unagitated. And with people who don't "wait on you", but really welcome you.

The centrepiece of HENRI Hotels is the hotel kitchen. This is where community is created – if you want it to be. In the morning it starts with coffee and a good breakfast, during the day it becomes a short stopover, in the evening a little ritual. Perhaps an evening meal. Maybe a drink. And almost always a conversation when you need one.

A principle that we take seriously: trust. You simply take your favourite drink from the fridge. The bill is settled at the end (at check-out, don't worry). Just like a good host does. So that your trip to HENRI is not just a stay in any hotel. It feels like arriving at the home of good friends.
