Discover Vienna - Why it's worth a trip

Vienna welcomes you with a mixture of imperial splendour, cultural depth and a serenity that can only be found here. The city combines past and present, tradition and modern creativity and it is precisely this contrast that makes it so appealing.

The capital inspires with world-famous music, magnificent buildings, world-class museums and coffee houses where time moves a little slower. The atmosphere is elegant, but never aloof. A city that lets you arrive and stay.

Vienna is a place where history and culture can be found in almost every street - from classical music to lively markets and contemporary art.

At the same time, it impresses with its unique blend of imperial architecture and modern urban life.

HENRI is a part of this city. And we are happy to share what we know.

The most important sights - not to be missed:

St Stephen's Cathedral is the city's landmark. Gothic, mighty, in the middle of the city centre. The south tower offers a view over Vienna, and the catacombs also tell haunting stories from the past.

The Hofburg - the former winter residence of the Habsburgs - is now its own little city of museums, state rooms and history. Particularly popular: the Sissi Museum and the Imperial Apartments, which offer a glimpse into the life of the monarchy.

Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in Europe and was once the summer residence of Empress Maria Theresa. Gigantic gardens, Gloriette, maze - a day trip in itself.

The MuseumsQuartier is an urban cultural campus with museums such as the Leopold Museum or the MUMOK, cafés and courtyards that invite you to linger, especially in summer.

The coffee houses: they are a Viennese institution. A place to pause, read the newspaper, drink a Melange and simply breathe in the Viennese way of life.

Belvedere Palace - Baroque, art and a touch of history

Two baroque palaces, a garden in between - that's all it takes to understand why the Belvedere is one of the city's favourite places. Originally built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene, it is now home to one of Austria's most important museums, including Klimt's famous "Kiss".A walk through the grounds? Enough for a whole afternoon.

Wachau - wine, the Danube and a bit of space

One train, less than an hour upstream and Vienna is suddenly behind you. Terraced vineyards, small villages that smell of apricots on warm days and the Danube, which seems wider here than anywhere else. Dürnstein, Krems, Weißenkirchen - all places where you can let yourself drift. A stroll through narrow alleyways, a glass of Grüner Veltliner in the shade, a view over the river landscape. A day trip that tastes of summer.
