Tips for the destination Kitzbühel: Winter and summer holidays

Kitzbühel has a problem. People come for a weekend and start thinking about longer stays. It's not just the Streif that's to blame, even though the world's steepest downhill run keeps the world in suspense every January. It's the combination. 233 kilometres of pistes in winter. Endless hiking trails and crystal-clear mountain lakes in summer. A medieval old town that shines in every season. And an energy that you don't find everywhere in the Alps. This mixture of world-class sport, Tyrolean cosiness and the feeling that life simply tastes a little better here.

HENRI is part of this city. And we are happy to share what we know.

Explore Kitzbühel like a local.

We all know Kitzbühel. But do you really know it? Kitzbühel is more than the Streif. More than après-ski and designer boutiques. It is a place with a real soul and this only unfolds when you know where to look. We can help with that.

Ride up the Hahnenkamm - and back on foot. Everyone knows the cable car. If you get to the top and take the hiking trail back, you can experience the mountains in a way that no lift can offer.

Early in the morning to Schwarzsee. Before 8 am, the lake still belongs to the locals. No hustle and bustle, just mist over the water and the mountains in the background.

Visit the Aurach Wildlife Park in the late afternoon. Then, when the day tourists have gone and the animals become more active. Deer, ibex and a silence that you wouldn't expect in Kitzbühel.

By bike to the Astbergsee lake. One of the quietest places around Kitzbühel and hardly anyone knows about it. In the evening, when the sun disappears behind the mountains, it is simply magical here.

The old town after 8 pm. When the day tourists have gone and Kitzbühel belongs to the locals again. A glass of wine, cobblestones in the evening light - this is when the town shows its true colours.
